The February Ag Club meeting/luncheon will be held on Friday, February 7th, at 11:30 am, at the Kentucky Farm Bureau Office, 9201 Bunsen Parkway, Louisville, KY 40220. Our speaker will be Warren Beeler, Kentucky Deputy Ag Commissioner.
Warren Beeler, or “Mr. Agriculture” as many of his colleagues call him, is a veteran of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture and a former University of Kentucky Extension specialist. He is currently the Kentucky Deputy Commissioner of Agriculture. Mr. Beeler has held positions in the state ag department for over 17 years. In 2016, he was the Director of the Governor’s Office of Agricultural Policy, overseeing tobacco settlement dollars designated for restructuring Kentucky farming as tobacco income declined.
He is also an expert in livestock genetics and has raised Kentucky Grand champion hogs and lambs. He helped develop the first on-farm testing program for swine in Kentucky.
In 2018, Mr. Beeler was honored as the “Distinguished Rural Kentuckian” by the Kentucky Electrical Cooperatives.
Mr. Beeler and his wife, Dee Dee, raised five children on their farm in Caneyville in Grayson County and credits his late parents for the values they instilled in him – working hard and love of family.
I’m sure you will enjoy hearing from Mr. Beeler.
